Uncle William Jones
with Ci Glas |
Being a hill farmer in
North Wales on his farm just outside Corwen close to the Snowdonia
National Park, he has been brought up with sheepdog trialling in
his blood. Aled's uncle, William Jones, won the famous Llangollen
sheepdog trial in 1899 with Ci Glas. It was fitting that Aled should
win this same title exactly 100 years later with Roy.
Managing to run trial
dogs and farm dogs is not something that all can do, but Aled has
secured admiration for herding sheep both on the mountainside, and
on the trial field - quite often in the company of much more scrutinising
judges on the mountainside!

North Wales Special Nursery Trial
Despite appallingly bad weather on the 23rd., the Nursery-trial was held at Ewe-phoria, and with our Japanese visitors attracting interest from the Press and Tv. Media many viewers around the Nation (and indeed, the world) got a chance to see our North Wales Nursery-dogs competing, both against the course and the elements!
Mr Takanami & Mrs. Mizutani wish to pass on their thanks to all competitors whom attended the Ewe-Phoria trial, for the friendly welcome, and kind support that was given on the day and over the week of the visit.....The Japanese dog ('Ben': out of Aled`s Gwyn x Tegwen) has benefited greatly from the experience of the trial, and also from competing in his first open trial at Llanfairfechan on Sunday, the 26th....it is hoped that Ben may return again in the years to come to compete in the land of his fathers!.
