Sheepdog Training Courses

Aled Owen has been running sheepdog training courses for over 10 years, either at home on his farm or for the ATB. Having developed a taste for training handlers, he now devotes his time to running his own courses.

Where are the courses held?
Courses are held at 'Glanrafon' in the heart of the Welsh countryside, or clinics can be arranged overseas.

Who should attend?
Courses are designed both for people who compete at trials, or those who want to train their dogs to carry out the day to day work on their farms.

Courses at Glanrafon

The courses provided at Glanrafon are held over 1 to 5 days at the very edge of the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park. The courses are provided as sheepdog training holidays comprising:

  • Expert tuition from Aled Owen
  • Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Afternoons free to visit or compete at local trials
  • Quality bed & breakfast accommodation

Many individuals and groups have travelled from around the world to benefit from these courses.

Training Tutorials and Sheepdog Handling Clinics - Aled`s highly regarded Sheepdog-Handling Training courses for all handler-abilities and ages of dog. Come and let Aled`s relaxed and insightful sheepdog handling skills bring out the very-best in your dog/handler partnership. 

For novice, intermediate or advanced level dogs and handlers....be it for competitive or daily-work: Aled`s wealth of experience, proven knowledge and singular insight can help you better-understand and handle your dog.

Friendly group/shared instruction and 'one-on-one' individual tuition is also offered.

All courses begin at 9.30 am. Please contact Aled by phone or e-mail for further details.

Cost :
£60 per person, including a delicious light lunch.

The courses are held at the 'Ewe-Phoria' Agri Theatre & Sheepdog Centre at Glanrafon Farm (see map below).
